The IVA+ is a computer-based assessment that gives you a black and white answer to a question that many people are asking today:
“Do I or my child have ADD or ADHD?”

For detailed information about the IVA+ please visit the
IVA+ website.

When you come in for the IVA+ please allow 90 minutes. This is what you can expect in that time:

• The first 30 minutes will be an explanation followed by the computer assessment.
• Following the test you will have 1 hour of Dr. Novian’s time.
• He will perform a clinical assessment with you to confirm the IVA+ results.
• He will also explain the results of the assessment to you and answer any questions you have.
• You will receive a comprehensive report that will highlight each area of attention that the test will measure. It says what type of ADD is shown or why ADD is not the appropriate diagnosis. These documents can help you understand how you learn and process information as well.
• You will also receive a summary report which is useful to school counselors and other educational professionals.

This package is priced at $200.00.

What if the answer is “Yes?” What do I do?

There are several treatment options open to you. The most familiar one is medication, which is available through a psychiatrist. I do not prescribe. There is a list of trusted professionals on my links page. The second, which I offer in my office, is Neurofeedback. Neurofeedback information can be found here. There are also alternative treatments involving nutrition and behavioral management. I do not specialize in these forms of treatments, but I would be happy to discuss them with you and refer to a specialist if that is your desire.

No matter which form of treatment you need, I recommend that you speak with your child’s teachers and counselors about strategies in the classroom. If you are seeking personal and applicable coping strategies outside of your child’s school, I refer to Katherine Parker. She is an experienced teacher who runs a tutoring company working with Learning Disabled children and their families. She has experience with many types of coping strategies, and a real heart for the students she works with. Her website is also in my links page.
